Head of Business Development & Marketing - Debt Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Development & Marketing to lead the Debt Finance practice within a leading international law firm. Reporting to senior partners, you will shape and execute BD and marketing strategies to drive client growth across an international platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver business development and marketing strategies aligned with commercial objectives.
• Lead client development initiatives, strategic campaigns and cross‑selling opportunities across international teams.
• Oversee major pitches, panel appointments and proposal activity in collaboration with specialist bid teams.
• Drive thought‑leadership, profile‑raising activities, client events and legal directory submissions.
• Use market intelligence and client insight to identify growth opportunities and set BD priorities.
• Partner with marketing, communications and business services to deliver integrated campaigns and measurable results.
• Ensure BD activities are planned, executed and evaluated to maximise ROI.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading business development and marketing initiatives within professional services or legal environment.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Track record of delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
