Head of Change

About the role

The Head of Change will lead the people side of a large‑scale digital transformation for a charitable organisation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that change initiatives are embedded, that staff are supported throughout the journey, and that the transformation delivers lasting impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver change management activities across the digital transformation portfolio.
• Develop organisation‑wide change plans, including impact assessments, stakeholder maps, engagement strategies and readiness assessments.
• Integrate change activities into project delivery from the outset, working closely with digital and technology teams.
• Line‑manage a Programme Manager and two Business Analysts, fostering their development.
• Build change capability across the organisation, equipping teams to sustain new ways of working.
• Act as the senior voice for people and organisational impact within the transformation directorate.
• Report on change readiness and progress to senior leadership and, when required, to the board.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading change management on large, cross‑organisational programmes.
• Strong understanding of change methodologies such as Prosci/ADKAR or Kotter.
• Experience working alongside digital, technology or systems transformation programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executives and board members.
• Experience managing and developing a small team.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter or equivalent change methodology.
