Head of Change

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Change to lead a high‑performing, geographically dispersed team delivering customer‑funded change programmes within a secure defence environment. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight to ensure change initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a dispersed Change team, fostering performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee a portfolio of customer‑funded change initiatives, ensuring delivery against time, cost and quality targets.
• Own senior customer relationships and act as escalation point for complex delivery issues.
• Implement strong governance, reporting and delivery disciplines across programmes and portfolios.
• Manage financial performance, including forecasting, revenue and margin accountability.
• Identify opportunities to expand change requests into broader strategic programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams delivering programmes, projects or change portfolios in customer‑facing environments.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience in financial management, forecasting and revenue delivery.
• Experience managing complex programmes with multiple workstreams and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to build trusted customer relationships and navigate challenging delivery environments.
• Experience establishing and leading governance forums such as programme boards and steering committees.
• Data‑driven decision‑making using performance insight.
