Head of Client Services

About the role

Lead the engine room of a growing boutique chartered wealth firm, overseeing client services, platform administration and operations. Based in Bradford‑on‑Avon, you will act as the glue between advice, technology, HR and senior leadership, with a clear path to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the administration, platform and client‑relations teams, setting standards, managing capacity and supporting recruitment, training and performance reviews.
• Own the client lifecycle in the practice management system (Plannr), including onboarding, review packs, communications and data management.
• Manage platform administration tasks such as submissions, withdrawals, transfers and project work (e.g., PP to ISA, Bond to ISA, CGT).
• Drive process improvement, KPI monitoring and automation across teams.
• Support compliance with Consumer Duty, GDPR, terms & conditions and file standards.
• Set front‑of‑house and office standards and oversee day‑to‑day operations.
• Participate in strategic work: integration of acquired firms, rollout of new propositions and implementation of technology initiatives (client app, digital signatures, AI tools).

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the IFA/wealth client lifecycle and platform administration, gained in paraplanning, client services or operations.
• Proven people‑leadership experience or clear potential and appetite to lead a team.
• Process‑improvement mindset with comfort using new technology.
• Good understanding of compliance requirements (Consumer Duty, GDPR).
• Business‑owner attitude – high ownership, high standards and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Experience with practice management systems (e.g., Plannr) and platform administration.
• Familiarity with wealth‑management processes such as PP to ISA, Bond to ISA and CGT transfers.
