Head of Commercial & Business Development

About the role

National Gas Services is seeking a senior commercial leader to define and execute its growth strategy across the UK and international markets. Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape the future direction of a business generating £75‑100 million in annual revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the long‑term commercial and business development strategy for National Gas Services.
• Drive market expansion and strategic partnerships across Gas, Water, Future Energy and Technology sectors.
• Lead the pursuit and conversion of high‑value opportunities, tenders and major contract awards.
• Influence commercial frameworks and strategic business planning to support sustainable growth.
• Ensure delivery of commercial performance and revenue targets for a £75‑100 million portfolio.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Established commercial leader with credibility at senior executive level.
• Strategic vision and ability to influence investment and business decisions.
• Proven track record of driving growth at scale in infrastructure‑related sectors.
• Strong leadership presence and ability to work across UK and international markets.
