Head of Communications (Senior Leadership)

About the Role

As the Head of Communications for the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, you will lead a dynamic communications and engagement team in a high-impact environment. You will serve as a strategic advisor, shaping the Trust's reputation and ensuring seamless engagement with staff, patients, and key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the comprehensive communication strategy for the Trust.
• Provide expert strategic counsel on internal engagement and stakeholder relations.
• Oversee the creation of key messaging, corporate identity, and patient communications.
• Lead media relations, manage press inquiries, and organize high-profile events and VIP visits.
• Direct crisis communication and manage responses to major incidents with precision.
• Supervise and mentor the communications team, fostering a motivated and high-performing culture.
• Ensure all communications comply with internal policies and organizational standards.

• Proven experience in a senior communications leadership role, preferably within a complex or public sector organization.
