Head of Construction and Enabling – UK CAPEX Projects

About the role
As Head of Construction and Enabling – UK CAPEX Projects, you will lead on‑site construction delivery for a portfolio of high‑value EPC projects within a live refinery environment. You will own the end‑to‑end construction execution, from enabling works through to handover, ensuring safety, specification compliance and schedule adherence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead multi‑disciplinary construction (civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation) across multiple sites.
- Manage contractor performance, safety standards and delivery against programme milestones.
- Drive commercial performance including change control, claims management and alignment with contract strategy.
- Oversee enabling works and site readiness for construction execution.
- Ensure full compliance with CDM 2015, COMAH and UK HSE regulations.
- Resolve complex site issues, risks and interface challenges, including SIMOPS.
- Maintain robust temporary works governance and provide construction input into commissioning.
- Act as key interface with HSE and other regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
- Deputise for the Head of UK Project Delivery when required.
Required profile
- Proven construction leadership on large‑scale industrial or energy projects in the UK.
- Extensive experience managing multi‑contractor sites in brownfield, COMAH‑regulated environments.
- Strong ability to coordinate interfaces, sequence work and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Capability to represent the project with regulatory authorities and senior stakeholders.
