Head of Cyber Security

About the role

We are partnering with a global hedge fund to appoint a Head of Cyber Security. This hands‑on leadership role will shape and execute the security strategy for a technology‑driven trading business, working closely with senior leadership and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the cyber security function across the organisation.
• Define and execute the firm’s cyber security strategy.
• Partner with engineering to embed security into software development and infrastructure.
• Drive AI security and governance initiatives.
• Protect trading systems, market data and intellectual property.
• Lead incident response, threat management and security engineering projects.
• Manage and mentor a small team of security professionals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cyber security within a trading firm, investment bank, hedge fund, market maker or electronic trading environment.
• Strong hands‑on background in security engineering, cloud security and application security.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in fast‑paced, technology‑driven organisations.
• Good understanding of AI security, secure software development and modern cloud environments.
• Comfortable operating at both executive and technical levels.

What we offer

• Competitive base salary of £250k per year plus performance bonus.
