Head of Distribution – Commercial Insurance

About the role

Join a newly launched Managing General Agent (MGA) as the Head of Distribution. You will lead the go‑to‑market strategy for bespoke commercial insurance products, leveraging existing broker networks and shaping new channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the MGA's overall distribution strategy.
• Build and strengthen relationships with regional and national insurance brokers.
• Analyse distribution performance and marketing spend to drive profitable growth.
• Identify new opportunities across products, territories and broker segments.
• Collaborate closely with underwriting to ensure broker feedback informs product development and appetite.
• Represent the business at industry events while maintaining a strong commercial focus.
• Help shape future distribution channels, software partnerships and digital initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing broker relationships within the UK insurance market.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to turn data into strategic decisions.
• Experience working collaboratively with underwriting teams.
• Genuine interest in building a new business from the ground up.
• Background in non‑standard commercial and residential property insurance is highly advantageous.
