Head of EPR Programme Delivery

About the role

The Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior leader to head the delivery of its Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme. This high‑visibility position will drive the end‑to‑end transformation of patient record systems across the newly merged Trust, supporting its digital and clinical strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for programme governance, planning, and delivery controls.
• Oversee the full EPR lifecycle, from business case development and procurement to go‑live, stabilisation and optimisation.
• Manage risk, assurance and stakeholder engagement with clinical, operational, corporate and digital teams.
• Negotiate contracts and collaborate with external suppliers and system partners, including Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
• Ensure the programme is clinically led, safe, and aligned with the Trust’s strategic ambitions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale digital health programmes within the NHS or similar healthcare environment.
• Strong strategic judgement combined with hands‑on delivery capability.
• Excellent collaborative leadership skills, able to work with senior clinicians, operational managers and external partners.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred, safe digital solutions.
