About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and forward‑thinking leader to head our Film and Media Studies department at a high‑achieving secondary school in Camberley. This senior position offers strategic and operational responsibility for KS4 and KS5 curricula, driving innovation and continued academic success.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Film and Media department, overseeing GCSE, A‑Level and BTEC programmes.
- Develop and update curriculum to reflect industry trends and student interests.
- Manage teaching staff, mentor junior teachers and promote professional development.
- Monitor student progress, set performance targets and ensure high attainment rates.
- Maintain and enhance modern software, equipment and learning resources.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align department goals with school vision.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with experience delivering Media and/or Film at KS4 and KS5.
- Proven leadership ability with a clear vision for curriculum development.
- Collaborative mindset that values innovation, creativity and inclusion.
- Experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.
