Head of Finance & Administration

About the role

The Head of Finance & Administration will own the complete finance and administration function for a European‑backed business in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will act as the key financial liaison between the UK operation and the wider European group, influencing strategy and ensuring robust day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance operations, including accounting, payroll oversight, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and preparation of annual accounts.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and capital‑expenditure monitoring.
• Monitor KPIs, profitability, margins and overall business performance; oversee credit control, insurance and cash management.
• Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance and accurate financial data across the organisation.
• Oversee employee records, onboarding, payroll coordination, pensions and general HR administration; support recruitment and employee relations.
• Act as the local point of contact for IT matters, supporting infrastructure, systems and troubleshooting.
• Lead and mentor a small finance team covering accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent finance professional with substantial senior‑level finance leadership experience.
• Proven track record in a finance leadership role within a European‑backed or multinational organisation.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• SAP (strong experience required)

What we offer

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£60,000 per annum plus bonus.
• Full‑time permanent contract.
• Office‑based role in Milton Keynes with standard working hours 8:30‑5pm.
