Head of Finance

About the role

MERJE Ltd is a fast‑growing, privately‑owned company in the residential development sector. The Head of Finance will lead the finance function, providing strategic direction and ensuring robust financial governance as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial planning, reporting and analysis activities.
• Produce quarterly management accounts and financial reports for directors and investors.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and statutory compliance (CIS, VAT, subcontractor payments).
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Provide strategic insights to support executive decision‑making and drive performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support growth and profitability.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in property, construction or residential development.
• Strong track record in budgeting, forecasting and management accounts production.
• Excellent analytical ability and experience translating complex data into business intelligence.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management and board‑level communication skills.
