Head of Finance

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing insurance business based in Leeds, is seeking a Head of Finance to support the Finance Director. The role will provide hands‑on financial control, accurate reporting and insightful management information to drive the company’s strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations and ensure smooth running of company finances.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and management information.
• Produce statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors on all accounting and tax matters.
• Lead, develop and manage the finance team, fostering continuous professional development.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience in insurance or financial services.
• Proven career progression to senior finance roles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Strong technical competency in financial accounting and reporting.

Required skills

• Qualified accountant status (ACA/ACCA).
