Head of Financial Reporting & Control – Sports

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished Head of Financial Reporting & Control to lead accounting, reporting, governance and compliance across a global sports‑focused business. This senior finance leader will shape financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance and drive process automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting function, including month‑end close, consolidation and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple international entities.
• Review complex commercial contracts and new business arrangements, providing technical accounting guidance under US GAAP, UK GAAP and German GAAP.
• Develop and maintain scalable financial processes, controls and policies to protect assets and meet compliance requirements.
• Drive automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives, leveraging technology to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Manage statutory audits, coordinate with external auditors and support SOX compliance activities.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional with extensive technical accounting expertise.
• Proven experience leading high‑performing finance teams in an international environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret complex transactions.
• Demonstrated track record of implementing process improvements and automation.
