Head of Fleet

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking an experienced Head of Fleet to lead the strategic management and operational performance of its national vehicle fleet. Based at the Head Office in Stratford, East London, the role involves regular travel across the UK to support operational teams, suppliers and fleet activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational management of the company fleet across multiple regions and contracts.
• Develop and deliver the Group's fleet strategy aligned with performance, commercial and sustainability goals.
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for investment and transformation.
• Design and implement fleet renewal, replacement and decarbonisation plans.
• Drive optimisation initiatives to improve vehicle utilisation and reduce off‑road time.
• Lead the electric vehicle (EV) strategy, coordinating with sustainability and commercial teams.
• Standardise supplier agreements, pricing and service models for consistency and value.
• Oversee fleet procurement, vehicle replacement and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading national fleet management or similar large‑scale asset programmes.
• Strong strategic thinking with a track record of delivering operational improvements.
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with executive and senior stakeholders.
• Experience in fleet renewal, electrification and sustainability initiatives.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of supplier governance.
