Head of HR – Lead People Strategy

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Head of HR to shape the culture of Chapel House Motor Co Ltd, a leading motor retail group with 10 branches across the North West. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the people strategy for a workforce of around 220 employees, driving improvements that make us an employer of choice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the HR Business Plan aligned with commercial goals and legislative changes.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, retention initiatives and employee experience enhancements.
• Provide strategic HR advice to the Board, senior managers and staff across all sites.
• Coach and develop the HR team, fostering continuous skill growth.
• Oversee HR projects, policies and compliance across the group.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate business needs into HR solutions.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Track record of improving employee engagement, benefits and retention.
