Head of Learning & Development

About the role

This senior position will lead the creation and delivery of a Learning & Development function for a fast‑growing leisure and hospitality business in London. You will work closely with senior leadership to embed learning into daily operations and drive performance across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an L&D strategy from the ground up.
• Audit existing training, identify capability gaps and streamline external provision.
• Develop practical leadership and management programmes that deliver operational impact.
• Create tools, frameworks and resources that managers will use daily.
• Partner with HR and Operations to improve performance consistency across sites.
• Embed learning into day‑to‑day activities rather than isolated sessions.
• Challenge non‑learning issues and influence better business decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building or transforming L&D functions.
• Strong background in hospitality, leisure, retail or other multi‑site operational environments.
• Commercially aware with a clear understanding of how learning drives performance.
• Confident stakeholder manager who can constructively challenge when needed.
• Pragmatic, adaptable and able to work at pace in a fast‑moving environment.
