Head of Manufacturing

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing UK contract manufacturer in the food and wellness sector. The Head of Manufacturing will own the manufacturing function, shaping processes, standards and structure to support the next phase of growth, automation and scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing operation across multiple production departments.
• Coach and develop Production Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors.
• Build a high‑performing manufacturing culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Drive improvements in productivity, labour utilisation, OEE, OTIF, downtime, Right First Time and overall operational performance.
• Develop stronger factory routines, communication, shift handovers and escalation processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Technical, Quality, Planning and Warehouse to enhance site performance.
• Support automation projects, new equipment implementation and operational change.
• Create development plans and succession pathways across manufacturing.
• Prepare the business for future site expansion and increased capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior manufacturing leadership within regulated production environments.
• Track record of building high‑performing teams and driving operational excellence.
• Ability to work hands‑on on the factory floor, coach teams and solve problems.
