Head of MIS – Data, Funding & Compliance

About the role

Lead the Management Information Services (MIS) function across Further Education, Apprenticeships, Adult Skills and Higher Education, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely learner data. The role drives funding compliance, data quality and reporting to support strategic decision‑making and maximise funding opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the MIS team.
• Ensure accurate and timely ILR submissions.
• Maintain compliance with DfE, ESFA, GLA, Surrey County Council and OfS funding requirements.
• Drive data quality, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Produce management information to support planning and performance.
• Lead funding audits and manage compliance risks.
• Develop and maintain effective data governance processes.
• Collaborate with curriculum and support teams to ensure high‑quality learner data.

Required profile

• Significant experience in MIS leadership within Further Education.
• Expert knowledge of ILR funding rules and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of FE funding, data quality standards and audit processes.
• Proven experience managing funding compliance, reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and high‑quality data management.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary £58,851 per annum.
• 37‑hour, Monday‑to‑Friday work week.
• On‑site role covering Redhill and South Croydon sites.
