Head of People and Organisational Development

About the role

The client, a respected charitable organisation, is seeking a senior HR leader to shape its people strategy and organisational culture. Reporting to the Director of People & Operations and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive workforce planning, employee experience and HR service delivery across the charity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of people strategy and workforce planning initiatives.
• Drive organisational development, culture change and employee engagement programmes.
• Oversee HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, retention and payroll governance.
• Manage learning and development, talent management and leadership development frameworks.
• Champion inclusion, wellbeing and a positive employee experience.
• Control HR and organisational development budgets and manage supplier relationships.
• Provide workforce reporting, risk management and support senior decision‑making.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent, supported by a management qualification.
• Significant experience leading HR and organisational development functions in a charity, public sector or values‑driven environment.
• Proven expertise in organisational development, culture change and leadership development.
• Strong background in employee relations, workforce planning and HR operations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, including experience working with senior leaders, Boards and Trustees.
• Passion for building inclusive, high‑performance workplace cultures.

• Salary £50,762 – £59,772 pro‑rata (30 hrs/week, 0.8 FTE).
