Head of Pre-Construction

About the role

Our client, an international workplace consultancy, is seeking a Head of Pre-Construction to lead a commercially critical function. You will shape winning bids, de‑risk delivery and build a scalable pre‑construction capability across the UK and EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all pre‑construction activities from initial client conversation to project mobilisation.
• Own bid strategy, programme, construction methodology, cost planning and procurement strategy.
• Develop winning, buildable solutions for competitive tenders.
• Collaborate with Design, Commercial, Furniture and Delivery teams for an integrated approach.
• Build and mentor a growing pre‑construction team across the UK and EMEA.
• Drive innovation through BIM, digital construction and sustainable delivery.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in commercial fit‑out, workplace construction, interiors or design‑and‑build.
• Proven track record leading pre‑construction on complex commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, procurement, planning and commercial delivery.
• Demonstrated success in winning competitive tenders and negotiated work.
• Ability to influence clients, consultants and senior stakeholders.
• Experience building and developing high‑performing teams.
