Head of Private Markets Valuations

About the role

The Head of Private Markets Valuations will lead a high‑profile team responsible for valuing a substantial portfolio of private market investments. Reporting to the Investment Finance function, the role combines technical valuation expertise with portfolio analysis, governance and strategic business partnering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the valuation process for private market investments across multiple fund structures, ensuring robustness, accuracy and timely delivery.
• Own and continuously improve valuation methodologies, governance processes and internal policies in line with accounting and valuation standards.
• Prepare and present valuation papers for governance committees, providing technical recommendations.
• Partner with investment teams throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting new transactions, portfolio monitoring and exits.
• Act as the primary contact for new investment activity, ensuring accurate operational set‑up and timely information flow.
• Monitor portfolio performance, analyse valuation movements, emerging risks and trends, and deliver insights to senior management.
• Collaborate with investor‑facing teams on portfolio analysis, fundraising, investor reporting and due‑diligence processes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in private market valuations and portfolio finance.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high‑calibre valuation team.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
