Head of Program Management

About the role

The Head of Program Management will join the senior management team of a major international engineering group based in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will lead a high‑performance team delivering complex, high‑value customer programmes across multiple industry sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Transform the technical and project management function into a high‑performance operation.
• Deliver a portfolio of customer programmes from contract award through design, manufacture and on‑site installation.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Contribute to strategic direction, governance, resource planning and the adoption of best‑practice programme management methodologies.
• Oversee CDM management, risk assessments and method statements compliance.
• Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Senior Programme Manager or Project Manager in engineering, manufacturing or construction environments.
• Proven track record of delivering large, complex capital‑expenditure projects on schedule and budget.
• Strong leadership ability to motivate cross‑functional, turnkey project teams.
• Analytical mindset with sound commercial judgement and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building capabilities with both internal and external parties.

Required skills

• Experience with CDM (Construction (Design and Management)) regulations.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and method‑statement development.
