Head of Programmes (Creative)

About the role

The Head of Programmes (Creative) will lead the delivery of specialist Post‑16 education across multiple campuses in Greater Manchester. This senior position combines curriculum leadership, SEND management, safeguarding and operational oversight to improve outcomes for young people with SEND and EHCPs.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically and operationally deliver Post‑16 study programmes across all sites.
• Ensure high‑quality teaching, learning, safeguarding and SEND provision.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL.
• Monitor curriculum quality, attendance, destinations, engagement and achievement.
• Drive continuous improvement using data, quality assurance and self‑assessment.
• Lead, coach and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain Ofsted readiness and compliance with DfE funding and SEND legislation.
• Develop relationships with employers, cultural partners, Local Authorities and external stakeholders.
• Oversee supported internship provision and employer engagement.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in specialist post‑16 education.
• Deep knowledge of SEND provision, EHCP implementation and safeguarding duties.
• Experience of multi‑site programme management and quality improvement.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted, DfE funding requirements and SEND legislation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
