Head of Security – Lead Security Infrastructure Project

About the role

You will lead a major security infrastructure project for a respected cultural organisation in Liverpool, protecting people, assets, collections and public spaces across a high‑profile estate. The role bridges operational security and project delivery to ensure new systems meet both immediate and long‑term objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of a large‑scale Security Infrastructure Project.
• Provide professional security advice to project teams, consultants and contractors throughout design and implementation.
• Act as the primary link between the Security team and wider project stakeholders.
• Ensure security principles, risk‑management processes and Protect Duty requirements are applied at every stage.
• Support development and implementation of broader security strategies aligned with infrastructure goals.
• Build strong relationships with internal departments, service providers and external partners.
• Assist with management and oversight of specialist security contractors.
• Contribute to future security planning and capital investment programmes.
• Review incidents and apply lessons learned to improve processes and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in large‑scale, multi‑site organisations.
• Strong understanding of physical security operations and infrastructure projects.
• Experience liaising with contractors, consultants and external service providers.
• Knowledge of security risk management and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Organised, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
