Head of SEN – Hybrid (Bromley)

About the role

The Head of SEN will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Special Educational Needs (SEN) service in Bromley, delivering an integrated and inclusive experience for children, young people and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and communicate the SEND strategic vision and priorities.
• Lead the delivery of high‑quality, user‑focused SEN services through direct provision and commissioning.
• Ensure services meet national standards, keep children safe and support them to thrive.
• Embed business intelligence and performance management to drive service improvement.
• Coordinate cross‑sector collaboration across education, health and social care, establishing joint commissioning structures.
• Provide expert advice and reporting to senior leadership and the Director of Education.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior leadership of SEN or related public services.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation, reforms and local/national priorities.
• Ability to influence partners, commissioners and families to achieve integrated outcomes.
• Excellent communication, analytical and strategic planning skills.
