Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The global entertainment group is seeking a Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit on a maternity‑cover basis. Reporting to the EVP Finance, UK Director, you will oversee all external UK reporting, statutory accounts, audit coordination, royalty reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review year‑end individual and consolidated statutory accounts for audit.
• Manage the external audit process, ensuring timely provision of information.
• Stay current with IFRS, US GAAP and UK corporation tax legislation.
• Oversee royalty reporting and royalty audits, delivering statements within required timescales.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal and external controls.
• Prepare, review and submit quarterly UK VAT returns and annual corporation tax returns.
• Identify and implement improvements to working practices and controls.
• Coordinate with legal, tax and other departments to ensure comprehensive reporting.
• Lead the internal audit process.
• Manage and develop the Statutory Reporting Senior Manager, Assistant Financial Accountant and Royalty Accountant.

Required profile

• Proven experience in statutory reporting and team management.
• Self‑starter with a track record of delivering accurate financial statements.
• Strong understanding of UK tax, VAT and corporate reporting requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance and other business functions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
• Expertise in UK corporation tax and VAT compliance.
• Experience with royalty reporting and audit processes.
• Proficiency in preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
