Head of Training

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Training to lead CIBSE’s training business, supporting both members and non‑members in the building services sector. This senior position will shape the strategy, expand the online portfolio and ensure CIBSE remains at the forefront of professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Revise existing courses and create a pipeline of new training opportunities.
• Build and manage a network of professional trainers to deliver market‑leading content.
• Oversee the growth of the online training business and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Lead a motivated team, fostering a customer‑focused culture with robust feedback mechanisms.
• Collaborate with the CIBSE Services team to develop long‑term training strategy.
• Deliver financial results in line with the budget and five‑year plan.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience delivering both face‑to‑face and online training.
• Proven financial management experience, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong communication skills to convey information to stakeholders, trainers and delegates.
• Effective decision‑making ability to prioritise training programmes.
• Leadership experience with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams.
• Collaboration skills to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
