Health and Safety Advisor – North London

About the role

The Housing Trust in North London is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor on a temporary basis. You will work closely with the Head of Health and Safety to embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. The role is hybrid, with two days remote and mandatory office presence on Wednesdays.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical health and safety advice and guidance to managers and staff.
• Promote a positive H&S culture across the organisation.
• Support managers in meeting required H&S standards.
• Investigate H&S accidents and incidents and escalate serious issues.
• Maintain accurate records within the H&S Management System.
• Lead RIDDOR and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting processes.
• Collaborate with HR on employee‑related H&S matters.
• Develop H&S policies, procedures and guidance.
• Deliver H&S projects and initiatives.
• Conduct inspections and audits, track actions to completion.
• Review and update risk assessments.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3 (or working towards NEBOSH Diploma Level 6).
• IOSH Membership.
• Experience as a health and safety adviser, preferably in the housing sector.
• Proven experience in incident investigation, regulatory engagement and performance reporting.
• Experience conducting H&S inspections.
