Health and Safety Manager (QHSE Lead)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) professional to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Swindon. This permanent, part‑time role offers ownership of quality, health, safety and environmental activities across a busy operational site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage internal audit programmes and maintain ISO management systems and accreditations.
• Coordinate external audits, certification visits and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
• Maintain all QHSE documentation, procedures and records; support customer and supplier quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation, manage risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Lead accident, incident and near‑miss investigations; monitor site safety standards and fire safety procedures.
• Support environmental compliance, monitor performance, manage waste and reporting activities.
• Promote a positive quality and safety culture, deliver QHSE training, toolbox talks and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a QHSE, compliance, quality or health & safety role.
• Proven experience managing ISO management systems and leading audits.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong communication skills.
