Health Courier Driver & Storekeeper (North Wales)

About the role

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is seeking a reliable driver and storekeeper to support its Health Courier Service in the Denbigh area, serving the North Wales health board. You will play a vital part in the safe transport and distribution of medical samples, blood products, stationery, laundry, and consumables across hospitals, GP practices and other health sites.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver diagnostic pathology samples and post from community sites.
• Store, manage and replenish stock items, including medical consumables such as needles, syringes and containers.
• Ensure secure and compliant transport of blood products, pathology samples and other regulated items following relevant safety and legislative standards.
• Operate within core service hours (8 am‑6 pm, Mon‑Fri) and provide occasional support for out‑of‑hours services.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections and inventory movements.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for transporting hazardous goods.
• Ability to work independently and follow strict health‑safety protocols.
• Willingness to work primarily on a dedicated schedule, with flexibility to assist other service areas when needed.
• Welsh language skills are desirable but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Accord Dangereux Routier and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
• Experience handling and transporting medical samples or similar regulated items.
