Health Records Officer

About the role

The Health Records Officer provides essential clerical support within the Health Records Department, ensuring efficient handling of patient case notes across multiple hospital sites. You will work as part of the Trust’s Digital Services Team, contributing to high‑quality patient services and benefiting from professional development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve, file, and transport case notes using roll cages and trolleys.
• Scan and upload documentation accurately into the electronic system, meeting defined KPIs.
• Review storage, retention, and destruction processes to ensure compliance with Trust policies and information governance standards.
• Verify that all records correspond with the Patient Administration System (PAS).
• Support other areas of the department as needed to maintain service continuity.

Required profile

• Physical ability to handle case note bundles weighing over 10 kg and work on your feet for most of the shift.
• Willingness to work across several hospital sites and at height when required.
• Commitment to follow standard operating procedures and meet performance targets.

Required skills

• Experience using the Patient Administration System (PAS) for record verification.
