Health & Safety Advisor – 3‑Month Fixed‑Term in St Albans

About the role

Our client, a well‑established pharmaceutical manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is hands‑on, focusing on reviewing, strengthening and embedding Health & Safety compliance across the organisation to meet UK HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Health & Safety audits across production, laboratory, warehouse, office and associated facilities.
• Review and update Health & Safety policies, SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
• Work closely with operational teams to implement compliant and sustainable Health & Safety processes.
• Strengthen COSHH management and ensure GMP‑compliant handling of chemicals and materials.
• Review incident reporting procedures, support root‑cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Provide regular progress reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Proven experience in Health & Safety, compliance or audit‑focused roles.
• Strong knowledge of COSHH and UK Health & Safety regulations.
• Experience delivering compliance improvements within GMP or highly regulated environments.
• Background in pharmaceutical, laboratory or manufacturing settings is highly advantageous.
