Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

SafeSchool is seeking an enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to join its growing team in the North West. You will provide expert advice to schools, conduct site audits, and support clients with accident reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client sites to perform health and safety audits and risk assessments.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries, delivering technically accurate advice for school environments.
• Assist clients with RIDDOR reporting, asbestos, legionella, fire safety, manual handling, working at height, COSHH, DSE and DfE guidance.
• Research and produce guidance notes, standard policies and check‑lists.
• Supervise a team of three H&S professionals and contribute to continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Diploma in Health & Safety or commitment to obtain one.
• Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Membership of IOSH (preferred) and experience writing risk assessments.
• Full UK driving licence, motor insurance and access to a car daily.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
