Health & Safety Consultant / Fire Risk Assessor

About the role

Lighthouse Risk Services LLP, a national health & safety and employment law consultancy, is seeking an enthusiastic Health & Safety Consultant who will also act as a Fire Risk Assessor. The position is home‑based with frequent travel to client sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out health & safety audits, safe working practice reviews and fire risk assessments for a variety of properties, including residential.
• Perform independent contract site inspections and assist in drafting risk assessments and method statements.
• Prepare policy documentation, conduct safety training courses and investigate accidents.
• Provide general advice, support client SSIP accreditation applications and contribute to tender documentation.
• Undertake specialist surveys and assessments where qualified.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – minimum requirement.
• Level 4 or 5 fire risk assessment qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
• Membership of IOSH, IFE or IFSM and P402 asbestos surveying certificate are advantageous.

Required skills

• Competence in conducting fire risk assessments.
• Ability to produce risk assessments, method statements and safety policies.
• Experience delivering health & safety training and accident investigations.
