Health, Safety & Environmental Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead our HSE programme within a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, and driving continuous improvement across health, safety, environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the HSE improvement plan.
• Conduct and review risk assessments, including COSHH, PUWER, fire safety and manual handling.
• Carry out regular HSE audits, workplace inspections and permit‑to‑work checks.
• Lead accident, near‑miss and incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and manage inductions for employees, contractors and agency workers.
• Oversee contractor approval, RAMS documentation and PPE management.
• Maintain HSE records, reporting and compliance documentation.
• Support environmental and sustainability initiatives and ensure ISO 45001 compliance.
• Lead and develop the Health & Safety Advisor.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years H&S experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate (working towards Level 6 Diploma).
• IOSH Affiliate (working towards CertIOSH).
• Proven experience with a range of workplace risk assessments.
• Previous staff management experience.

What we offer

• Competitive salary up to £55,000 per annum.
• Monday‑Friday, 9‑5 working hours.
