Healthcare Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a caring Healthcare Assistant to join our specialist rehabilitation service for women with mental illness and personality disorders in Alfreton. You will work within a supportive, kindness‑focused team delivering high‑quality care and helping service users progress on their recovery pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in ward rounds and observe patient behaviour to tailor care plans.
• Update and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene and daily living activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver trauma‑focused CBT and Compassion Focused Therapy.
• Support a positive risk‑taking environment that encourages self‑reliance and confidence.

Required profile

• Compassionate attitude with resilience and vigilance.
• Ability to work 12.5‑hour shifts, 3‑4 days a week, including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to learn and develop through training and supervision.
• Open to candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those transitioning from childcare, hospitality, retail or customer service.
