Healthcare Assistant – Specialist Home Care for Child

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join a 2:1 care package for a 14‑year‑old boy with complex clinical needs. The role is based in the family’s home in Bilston and includes support during school and family outings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care, clinical support and companionship to the young client.
• Administer rescue medication, manage severe epilepsy episodes and respond to emergencies.
• Deliver respiratory care, including oxygen therapy and suction (deep suction when required).
• Assist with gastrostomy (PEG) care and any related procedures.
• Accompany the family on holidays and day trips, ensuring the child’s health and wellbeing are maintained.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience supporting children or adults with complex care needs.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and think quickly in changing clinical situations.
• Comfortable working in a home environment that includes dogs.
• Willingness to work alternate weekends and 2‑3 shifts per week between 8 am‑8 pm.
