Healthcare Support Worker

About the role
Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join its emergency admissions service for men and low‑secure to rehabilitation pathway for women. Working 12‑hour shifts across days and nights, you will help service users access a range of therapeutic programmes in a peaceful, beachside setting.
Key responsibilities
- Provide physical and emotional support to service users, tailoring assistance to individual needs.
- Assist with medical and welfare requirements, documenting observations as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and uphold safeguarding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver therapeutic interventions.
Required profile
- Genuine desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Sensitive, intuitive, and able to create a trusting environment.
- Passion for empowering service user independence.
Required skills
- Knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
- Familiarity with Schema Therapy.
- Experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
- Understanding of DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).
