Healthy Weight Nurse

About the role

The Healthy Weight Nurse will deliver evidence‑based weight management interventions for children and families in Manchester school settings. Working within the Healthy Weight Team, you will support children identified through the National Child Measurement Programme or referrals from GPs, schools, and health visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive weight‑management support to nursery and reception‑aged children and their families.
• Collaborate with the wider school health team and partner agencies to promote healthy weight.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and meet statutory obligations.
• Contribute to policy development, caseload management, and multidisciplinary working.
• Document care using the Hive Electronic Patient Record system.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in paediatric or public health settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and safeguarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems (Hive).
