Heating Engineer

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking a skilled Heating Engineer to work across the Newcastle and Alnwick area. The role involves domestic gas servicing, repairs, maintenance and installations, as well as general plumbing work in both occupied and void properties.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance of domestic gas appliances, boilers and heating systems.
• Perform plumbing repairs and installations in occupied and void properties.
• Diagnose faults and aim for first‑time fixes wherever possible.
• Conduct gas safety inspections in line with Gas Safe and Health & Safety regulations.
• Complete accurate job documentation and maintain high customer‑service standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors and clients to deliver safe, compliant services.

Required profile

• Experienced Domestic Gas Engineer with strong plumbing skills.
• Current ACS qualifications – CCN1, CENWAT and CKR1 (HTR1 and G3 desirable).
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and use handheld devices for job management.
• Full UK driving licence and eligibility for SC and BPSS clearance.
• Experience in MOD, public sector or social housing environments is advantageous.
