HGV Class 1 Container Driver – Tilbury Docks

About the role
We are seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join our team at Tilbury Docks, based in Grays, South East England. The role involves local container deliveries on short‑distance trunk runs, providing reliable, well‑paid work with consistent hours.
Key responsibilities
- Perform container pick‑up and drop‑off using a Class 1 HGV (Category C+E).
- Complete 5–6 local depot deliveries per shift, travelling only a few miles from Tilbury Docks.
- Follow scheduled day or night shifts (10 hours each) and adhere to all safety and traffic regulations.
- Maintain accurate records using a digital tachograph.
Required profile
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Current Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Previous experience handling containers is preferred.
Required skills
- Container handling.
What we offer
- Competitive hourly rates: £20 – £22 per hour (higher rates for night and weekend shifts).
- Full‑time, ongoing employment with stable weekly hours.
- Local routes only – no long‑distance travel.
- Shift patterns: day shift starts 06:00, night shift starts 18:00, each lasting 10 hours.
