About the role

Royal Mail is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers to join its trunking operations between depots across the UK. The role is based in Gatwick and offers a temporary, ongoing contract for the remainder of 2026, with a variety of shift patterns including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

Transport mail between national sites
Complete vehicle checks and uphold top‑tier safety standards
Follow scheduled routes with precision
Represent Royal Mail with professionalism on every run

Required profile

Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence held for at least 2 years
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Minimum 180 days of Class 1 driving experience in the past 2 years
Maximum 6 penalty points on licence
Ability to pass vetting and DBS checks

Required skills

Pay between £22.41 and £25.53 per hour, shift dependent
Guaranteed minimum daily hours and weekly pay
Holiday accrual, pension and PAYE
Option to secure preferred shifts after assessment
On‑site parking and canteen facilities at most depots
