HGV Class 1 Driver – £17.30/hr, 45h/week

About the role

Join FCC Environment as an HGV Class 1 Driver, operating from the Maw Green Landfill site in Crewe. You will be responsible for collecting HWRC containers and ensuring safe, efficient transport of waste while adhering to all legal and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate company HGVs safely and efficiently.
• Collect HWRC containers and transport loads in line with environmental regulations.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle checks to maintain roadworthiness.
• Comply with all driving legislation, company procedures, and health & safety policies.
• Report accidents, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and contractors.

Required profile

• Valid LGV C+E (HGV Class 1) licence.
• Drivers CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum two years of experience holding a Class 1 licence.
• Previous experience with Roll On Roll Off (RORO) vehicles and sheeting systems.
• Good knowledge of the Cheshire area.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
