HGV Class 1 Driver – South East England

About the role

We are seeking reliable HGV Class 1 drivers to join our team covering East Sussex, Kent and the wider South East of England. You will be responsible for delivering goods for a range of clients on a 24/7 schedule, working days, nights and weekends as required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections before each journey and record any defects.
• Carry out multi‑drop deliveries, using pallet trucks and load‑strapping equipment.
• Couple and uncouple trailers safely and efficiently.
• Use PDA scanners and complete all required paperwork for each delivery.
• Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when interacting with customers.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with digital tachograph and CPC card.
• Minimum six months recent experience driving an HGV Class 1.
• No more than six penalty points and no disqualifying endorsements (DD, DR, INT).
• Willingness to undergo a client driving assessment if required.

Required skills

• Operation of a digital tachograph.
• Use of PDA scanning equipment.
• Pallet truck handling.
• Load strapping and trailer coupling/uncoupling.
