HGV Class 1 Driver – Temp to Perm (Up to £28.95/hr)

About the role

WPRG Ltd is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for a temp‑to‑perm position based in Dagenham. The role offers immediate starts, guaranteed hours and a clear pathway to a permanent contract after 12 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles for store deliveries across the South of England.
• Perform trunking and long‑distance driving assignments.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and delivery paperwork.
• Adhere to driver hours, tachograph and safety regulations.
• Work 12‑hour shifts starting between 18:00 and 03:00.

Required profile

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
• At least 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Good spoken English and a professional, safety‑conscious attitude.
• Ability to pass an onsite theory test and driving assessment.

Required skills
