HGV Class 1 Driver – Trunking (Depot to Depot)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver to join our trunking team, transporting goods between depots and distribution centres across the North West. The role offers a structured, full‑time schedule with minimal manual handling and a focus on safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs and distribution centres.
• Operate articulated vehicles safely and professionally.
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle inspections.
• Couple and uncouple trailers safely.
• Secure loads in line with transport regulations.
• Complete paperwork and digital tachograph records accurately.
• Communicate with transport planners and depot teams.
• Adhere to Driver Hours, WTD rules and road safety laws.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Good understanding of UK driver‑hours and compliance regulations.
• Strong reliability and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• No DR10 or IN10 convictions, maximum six penalty points.
