HGV Class 1 Driver – Trunking (Depot-to-Depot)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver to join our team for trunking operations between depots and distribution centres. The role offers a consistent depot‑to‑depot route, minimal manual handling and a structured Monday‑to‑Friday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs and distribution centres.
• Operate articulated C+E vehicles safely and professionally.
• Complete pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle inspections.
• Couple and uncouple trailers securely.
• Ensure loads are secured and compliant with transport regulations.
• Accurately record paperwork and digital tachograph data.
• Communicate with transport planners and depot teams.
• Adhere to driver hours, WTD rules and road safety laws.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Good understanding of UK driver‑hours and compliance regulations.
• Strong reliability, time‑management and ability to work independently.
• No DR10 or IN10 convictions and no more than 6 penalty points.
• 12‑month insurance experience required.
