HGV Class 2 Driver

About the role

We are seeking experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers to join a leading logistics client in Plymouth. The position is night‑shift based, running Monday to Sunday, with an hourly PAYE rate of £15.61. The role is ongoing with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Securely transport palletised parcels between sub‑depots and delivery units.
• Complete 1‑2 delivery stops per run, ensuring safe driving and accurate paperwork.
• Operate tail‑lift and pump‑truck equipment for loading and unloading.
• Interact professionally with customers and represent the company positively.
• Empty the vehicle and refuel at the end of each shift.
• Undertake a theory and practical safety assessment followed by a few days of paid training if successful.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 or 2 entitlement.
• Valid DCPC and digital tachograph card.
• No more than six penalty points on the licence.
• Good understanding of Working Time Directive legislation.
• Willingness to complete a short driving assessment.
• Strong communication skills and a safety‑first mindset.
